Exuviance® Performance Peel AP25 At-Home Chemical Peel
Chemical peels produce some of the most consistently impressive skin results in aesthetic practice. They resurface, brighten, improve texture, fade pigmentation and stimulate collagen renewal in a way that no daily skincare product can replicate. The limitation has always been access: in-clinic peels require appointments, qualified practitioners, higher concentrations and recovery time. The Exuviance Performance Peel AP25 removes that limitation.
A med-spa inspired at-home chemical peel that brings professional-strength resurfacing safely and accessibly into a twice-weekly home routine. Each two-step treatment uses a 25% blend of Alpha Hydroxy Acids and Polyhydroxy Acid across a Step 1 Activator and Step 2 Neutralizer to exfoliate dead, dull surface cells and stimulate meaningful skin renewal. The kit contains 13 Activator Pads and 13 Neutralizer Pads: a full six-week supply at twice-weekly use. Clinical results after one month: 100% noticed improvement in fine lines and wrinkles, and 94% noticed a more even skin tone.
Who Is It For?
- Those wanting professional-strength resurfacing results without clinic visits
- Dull, uneven or rough skin texture that requires significant improvement rather than maintenance
- Fine lines, wrinkles and surface pigmentation including sun damage and age spots
- Those wanting to boost and maintain the results of their regular Exuviance daily routine
- Anyone who has had in-clinic chemical peels and wants to maintain results at home between appointments
- Normal and combination skin that has built tolerance to daily acid products
How Does It Work?
The two-step protocol separates the active peel from the neutraliser to give the practitioner, or the patient at home, control over treatment intensity and timing. The Step 1 Activator Pad delivers the 25% acid blend including Glycolic Acid, Mandelic Acid and Gluconolactone to the skin. During the 10-minute contact time, the acids penetrate the stratum corneum and loosen the bonds between dead skin cells and the healthy cells beneath. This loosening stimulates the skin to shed the dead layer more rapidly and produces a controlled signal for collagen synthesis in the dermis. The Step 2 Neutralizer Pad then raises the pH back to a comfortable level, stopping the acid activity and immediately soothing and balancing the skin after the treatment.
Key Ingredients
- Glycolic Acid (AHA): The gold-standard resurfacing AHA with the smallest molecular weight, allowing it to penetrate most effectively into the stratum corneum. Visibly refines pore size, smooths fine lines, improves texture and stimulates collagen production with consistent use. The primary driver of the peel's resurfacing activity.
- Mandelic Acid (AHA): A larger-molecule AHA derived from bitter almonds that provides additional resurfacing, reduces oiliness and helps fade post-blemish marks with a lower irritation profile than equivalent concentrations of Glycolic Acid alone.
- Gluconolactone (PHA): Provides additional gentle resurfacing and barrier protection throughout the peel process, reducing the harshness of the combined acid blend and supporting the skin's moisture barrier.

After the first treatment: visibly smoother, brighter skin and improved skin clarity. At 6 weeks (full course): results comparable to a course of superficial in-clinic chemical peels, confirmed by 100% fine line improvement and 94% more even tone in clinical testing. Best results are maintained by continuing with a daily Exuviance routine between and after the course.
How We Use It at Face for Soul
As a pharmacist prescriber specialising in skin health, Performance Peel AP25 is one of my most recommended at-home treatments for patients who want meaningful resurfacing results between clinic appointments. Used consistently twice weekly over 6 weeks it delivers results comparable to a course of superficial chemical peels. For patients who have already had in-clinic peels, it is the maintenance tool that prevents results from regressing between appointments. For patients who cannot come in for regular treatments, it provides a clinically credible alternative.
How to Use
Cleanse skin thoroughly before starting. Apply the Step 1 Activator Pad over the face avoiding the eyes, lips, nostrils and any active blemishes or broken skin. Leave on for up to 10 minutes. Do not leave on longer than 10 minutes. Apply the Step 2 Neutralizer Pad and gently sweep over the treated area. Discard both pads. Use up to twice weekly. Always apply SPF 30 or higher the following morning and for at least one week after each treatment. Do not use on the same day as other strong exfoliating products.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is it worth the money?
At 13 two-step treatments, the Performance Peel AP25 provides a full 6-week course of twice-weekly professional-strength peel treatments. Compared to the cost of six superficial clinic peels, the value is exceptional. With 100% of clinical participants seeing fine line improvement after one month, the clinical evidence for this specific product is genuinely impressive.
How is it different from an in-clinic chemical peel?
In-clinic peels typically use higher acid concentrations or penetrate more deeply than at-home treatments. Performance Peel AP25 is formulated at a concentration safe for home use without medical supervision, delivering results that build over time to match the cumulative effect of a superficial clinic peel course. For deeper or more significant skin concerns, in-clinic treatments remain more powerful. For maintenance and between-appointment results, this is the most effective at-home alternative.
Can I use it on my chest and hands as well?
Yes. It can be applied to the face, neck, chest and backs of hands.
Can I use it with tretinoin?
Do not use Performance Peel AP25 on the same evening as tretinoin. Use on separate evenings and consult your prescriber about the appropriate interval between peel treatments and retinoid use.
Is it pregnancy safe?
We do not recommend use of chemical peels during pregnancy. Please consult your midwife or obstetrician.
Is it suitable for rosacea-prone skin?
The 25% acid concentration makes this treatment less appropriate for rosacea-prone skin. For sensitive and reactive skin types, we recommend starting with the Exuviance Gentle Daily Exfoliating Pads and building up to the Radiance Serum before considering peel treatments.
Can I use it after microneedling?
Wait a minimum of 2 to 4 weeks after microneedling before using any chemical peel. Always confirm with your clinician before resuming peel treatments after any procedure.
Does it clog pores?
No. The acid formula actively refines and clears pores with consistent use.
How many treatments are in the box?
13 two-step treatments, providing a full 6-week supply at twice-weekly use.
Is it vegan?
Please contact us to confirm vegan status for this specific product as Exuviance formulations can vary.
Is it cruelty-free?
Yes. Exuviance does not test on animals.
Clinical Insight
As a pharmacist prescriber specialising in skin health, Performance Peel AP25 is the at-home resurfacing treatment I recommend most confidently to patients who want peel-level results without clinic visits. The two-step activator and neutraliser system gives patients a meaningful degree of control over the treatment, and the clinical evidence confirming 100% fine line improvement after 4 weeks of twice-weekly use is as strong as I have seen for any at-home peel kit. For patients maintaining the results of in-clinic peel courses between appointments, it is the most appropriate home maintenance option in our range.
Research and Evidence
Performance Peel AP25 builds on the AHA research of Exuviance founders Drs. Van Scott and Yu, whose pioneering work on Glycolic Acid has been cited in thousands of peer-reviewed publications. Clinical studies of Performance Peel AP25 confirm 100% of participants saw improved fine lines after 1 month of twice-weekly use, and 94% noticed a more even skin tone. Glycolic Acid's resurfacing efficacy and collagen-stimulating mechanism are established in over 30 years of independent dermatological research. Mandelic Acid's efficacy and improved tolerability are supported by published comparative dermatological studies.
How Does It Compare?
Performance Peel AP25 vs in-clinic superficial chemical peel: In-clinic peels can use higher concentrations and penetrate more deeply, producing faster and more dramatic results. Performance Peel AP25 at twice-weekly home use delivers cumulative results over 6 weeks that match a course of superficial clinic treatments. In-clinic peels remain more powerful for significant concerns. Performance Peel AP25 is more accessible, convenient and cost-effective for maintenance.
Performance Peel AP25 vs Exuviance Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish: The Triple Microdermabrasion combines physical, chemical and enzymatic exfoliation for immediate visible improvement. Performance Peel AP25 delivers deeper chemical resurfacing through a timed two-step treatment for more significant skin renewal. Both can be used in the same programme: Triple Microdermabrasion for non-peel days, Performance Peel for peel days.
Performance Peel AP25 vs Exuviance Daily Resurfacing Peel CA10: Daily Resurfacing Peel CA10 is a gentle daily peel at a lower concentration for everyday maintenance. Performance Peel AP25 is a higher-strength twice-weekly peel for more significant resurfacing results. They target different levels of treatment intensity within the same protocol.
Complete Your Routine

Non-peel evenings: Exuviance cleanser, toner, Radiance Serum, Exuviance moisturiser. Morning after peel: cleanse, apply Exuviance Daily Corrector SPF 35 or SPF 50. Always apply SPF the morning after each peel treatment.
